  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 small onions, peeled and quartered
  • 2 cups blackberries, use fresh or frozen (if using frozen, thaw before using)
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon freshly ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 pound ground veal
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 3 pieces good country bread, crusts removed, torn into small pieces
