Garlic Green Beans

These green beans are kicked up a notch with garlic and red pepper flakes. It’s a perfect side dish and is ready in 20 minutes!
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ pounds green beans (I like using haricot vertes, but regular green beans work just fine)
- 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Red Pepper Flakes
- Sugar
- Salt and Pepper
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat melt the butter, add garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes. If you like it spicy, add a large pinch of the red pepper flakes. When the garlic starts to sizzle add the green beans, season with salt and a small pinch of sugar. Cook about 2 minutes. Add ¼ cup of water, cover and let cook for 5 minutes. Uncover and turn the heat up to high. When the water evaporates, season with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
