Balsamic Strawberries with Whipped Cream

If I want to be extra fancy I love serving this in large goblets and layer the strawberries and cream, finishing with a couple of strawberries on top.

Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, halved with tops removed
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar, use the best you can find – the thicker and more syrupy, the better!
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar (you can also use granulated sugar)
  • 1/2 cup – 1 cup of fresh whipped cream
  • Lemon Zest
  • Fresh mint

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine the strawberries, balsamic vinegar and sugar. Stir gently to combine. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. The longer the strawberries sit, the more the vinegar and sugar will break down their juices making them extra soft and sweet. If you like your berries a bit firmer, than you should put this dessert together right before serving.
  • Divide the strawberries between 4 bowls and top with whipped cream, lemon zest and mint. If I want to be extra fancy I love serving this in large goblets and layer the strawberries and cream, finishing with a couple of strawberries on top.
